This is a beautiful little playground located in the leafy backstreets of Mentone, and situated alongside a football oval and a preschool.
The playgrounds’ main attraction according to our 23 month old, Almaas, was the dry rock creek bed and sandpit. She spent an hour just stacking rocks and then relocating them in different parts of the rock bed. The sandpit is large enough for many children to play, and made even more special by the fact that children can enjoy numerous donated toy trucks in their sand play.
There’s also a climbing course, the main play structure consisting of a bridge, a cubby with numerous ‘shop fronts’, a tunnel, and a couple of slides. You’ll also find a bird nest swing and a 5-seat swing set.
Conveniently, you’ll also find sheltered seating and a BBQ area overlooking the playground. And best of all, the reserve is fully enclosed.
We visited on a chilly, but sunny Sunday morning whilst a footy game was being played at the oval- it wasn’t too busy at all and there was plenty of street parking.
