Seawinds Gardens Playspace

Located within the Seawinds Gardens near Arthurs Seat Summit, you will discover a play space that offers beauty, history, and the best of nature to its visitors- the nature-play space is inspired by Australian flora and fauna, and is nestled amongst bush land, walking tracks that lead you to various gardens, indigenous sculptures (by William Ricketts), duck ponds, and spectacular views of Port Phillip and the Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulas.

The playground sits atop soft fall-rubber and the equipment are largely sculpted out of tree logs. You’ll find log steps, rope climbs, a small slide, a large square see-saw style frame, and a series of large boulders for climbing. There’s also a birds nest swing, as well as lots of cast iron images of Australian animals, and native images engraved into the ground for playground goers to explore. Our little miss 2.5 did not want to leave, especially as she kept going back for a ride on her timber-carved vehicle with steering wheel!
We visited in the afternoon of a 30+ degree day, but the large trees offered relief from the heat. We were delighted to see families of kangaroos and were informed that they are in their abundance later in the day also.
The play space is complimented by picnic amenities such as tables, electric barbecues, and toilets (located adjacent to the car park). Disabled access is available to facilities and walking tracks.
All in all this play space offers a picturesque and perfect location for a family picnic and play day! But be sure to take your rubbish away with you.
