This is one of those hidden gems (even the locals don’t seem to know it exists) that instantly puts a smile on your dial.
In the centre of the playground is a large cubby which is big enough, even for adults, and offers shelter from Melbourne’s unpredictable weather ☔️ or perhaps useful as a hideaway from the resident ‘trolls’. Almaas found it a perfect place to eat her sultanas while playing with bark.
Back to the trolls. Yes you heard correctly, the playground is occupied by three giant trolls sculptured from timber and ready to stimulate your imagination, or simply offer a great photo opportunity!
The main timber play structure has plenty of elements for children of all ages, and is complimented by a number of springers, swings, a trampoline, slides and more. The troll theme continues if you cast your eyes at the stage (mouth) that features three slides (tongues). Perfect for your little ones to slide in unison with you/friends or to try the different slides out for size.
You’ll find a half-basketball court across the walking path from the main playground, with a bench for spectators. Further along the pathway (on the way to the off leash dog area) is a large wrought iron sculpture that encourages banging, dinging and donging, which could help scare off those trolls!!
There’s also a lovely shelter with seating and BBQ facilities, making this park a well equipped space for a fantastic day out.
